Measurement is very important to conducting any scientific investigation. Scientists work hard to make sure that their measurements are both accurate and precise as possible. Often they repeat their measurements several times to also check that they are consistent.

In order to communicate easily with other scientist, scientists have also agreed upon a standard system of measurement commonly known as the metric system. It is a system of measurement that is based on multiples of ten with each new multiple receiving a new prefix. This makes conversion in the metric system relatively simple. Most of the time it is simply a matter of moving a decimal as you move from one unit to another.

In order to help you convert measurements into metric check out the conversion tool on the download page.
